The Board functions under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The Board has affiliated more than 10,000 schools in India and 200 schools in 21 countries. The Central Board for Secondary Education conducts the All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) and All India Pre-medical / Pre-Dental Entrance exam for 30 NITs, 5 IIITs and Deemed Universities.
