International Montessori Method

Dr. Maria Montessori, Physician, Anthropologist and Pedagogue, studied children of all racial, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds for over fifty years. Her intense scientific observation of the human being from birth to maturity allowed her to distill a body of philosophical, psychological and pedagogical principles. These, together with a vast range of auto-didactic materials became the legendary the Montessori Method of Education. Montessori Method stimulates learning by providing direct sensory experience to the child through discovery, self-selected activities and by encouraging the child to observe, perceive, explore, investigate, imagine and solve problems.

Montessori Approach – Hand to Brain Connection

Tactile learning employed in Montessori Method asserts that the hands are child’s strongest link to the brain. When the movements of the hand are repeated they become templates in the brain that serve as a starting point for new experiences. As this method emphasizes ‘learning by doing’, children are able to master information more quickly and easily. Montessori Method holds a proven place in creating progressive neural pathways that facilitate cognitive development.

Montessori Environment

A Montessori environment, anywhere in the world will have happy and busy children engaged in purposeful work. The class room itself is distinct; typically beautiful and enticing, equipped with scientific and non-toxic materials.
